India States with Lowest Child Population - Top 10
In India, while states like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra often dominate headlines with their vast populations, some regions have notably smaller demographics, especially when considering the younger generation. Lakshadweep, a tiny archipelago off the southwestern coast of India, has the country's smallest child population, with just over 7,000 children.
The union territories of Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands follow, both with child populations under 50,000. Sikkim, the northeastern state nestled amidst the Himalayas, stands as the smallest state in terms of child population.
Larger union territories like Chandigarh and Puducherry also appear in the top ten, with child populations less than 1.5 lacs. Interestingly, Goa, a popular tourist destination, and Mizoram, known for its verdant hills and serene landscapes, have fewer than 1.7 lac children. Lastly, the mountainous state of Arunachal Pradesh wraps up the list, showcasing the wide range of India's demographic diversity.
