Most Populated Districts in India - Top 10

India is a vast nation with an immense population distributed across its various districts. Among these, some districts particularly stand out due to their staggering population figures.

Thane leads the list as the most populated district in India, with a headcount of over 1.11 crore residents. Remarkably, the Mumbai Suburban district, despite its small geographical size, houses an astounding 93.57 lakh people, resulting in a density of 20,980 individuals per square kilometer. This is in stark contrast to Pune, which has a similar population but a density of just 603.

In the eastern part of India, North Twenty Four Parganas and Barddhaman in West Bengal make it to the top 10 list with populations of 1.00 crore and 77.18 lakh respectively. The tech hub of India, Bangalore, isn't far behind, boasting a population of 96.22 lakh residents.
